St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office Internship Program
The St. Tammany Parish Coroner’s Office offers an internship program every summer during the months of June and July. This is a two-week, unpaid internship offered to college students entering the medical field and/or forensic science. In 2023, we are offering four (4) two-week intern sessions. They are as follows….
1. June 26 – July 7
2. July 10 - 21
3. July 24 - Aug 4Â
4. Aug 7 - Aug 18

Please be aware that we may have to cancel the program due to COVID-19. Dr. Preston will decide based on the COVID situation in our community as we approach summer.
To apply for the internship, you must fill out and return the required forms that can be downloaded here. The forms include an application, information, and a confidentiality agreement. These forms can be downloaded here. The applicant must also include a recent unofficial copy of their school transcript, two letters of recommendation, and a short narrative that explains why they are interested in our program and how they think they will benefit from being in it.
Each application is looked at on a case-by-case basis, and applying does not guarantee admittance into the program. Once your application has been reviewed, we will respond to you with an email regarding our decision.
The deadline for applications is to be announced, and will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis. Any applications received after the announced due date will not be considered for this year’s internship program.
